Snapdeal is an Indian e-commerce venture established in New Delhi, India. This 2010 based startup was established by two individuals Kunal Saha and Rohit Bansal.


Till 2011, Snapdeal is one of the largest online marketplaces of India and it has more than 300000 sellers with 3 crore products from more than 125000 retailers.


Snapdeal has also invested in the digital marketing of its website. In 2015, Aamir khan was brought to the Snapdeal for the promotion of its website. 


In 2012-13, Snapdeal earned nearly 600 crore rupees and 15-20% of revenue growth came from mobile commerce. In 2014, snapdeal registered a 56% growth in revenue with 900 crore rupees.


Last year Snapdeal’s revenue growth was increased up to 73% and losses got down from the previous year. The main competitors of Snapdeal are Amazon and Flipkart. 


Snapdeal has also been in many controversies like - going to labour commision for firing their 600 employees, Aamir khan controversy statement causing to criticise Snapdeal.
